February 21, 2008 - The Wachovia Center is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is home to the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL and the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA. The arena is formerly known as the CoreStates Center and the First Union Center before its name change in 2003. Nicknames include The Big House, The Big Joint, The Loud House and several others.

The Wachovia Center cost approximately $210 million to construct. It currently holds 21,600 seats for basketball games and 19,519 for hockey games.

Aside from professional sporting events, the Wachovia Center has featured big-time artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears, Bon Jovi, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, KISS, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Justin Timberlake and so many more!

The arena has also held notable events such as the 1997 NHL Stanley Cup Finals, the 1998 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, the 2001 NBA Finals, the 2002 X Games and plenty more!

In 2006, an announcement was made that the arena would install a new center-hung scoreboard.
